Dear Leader,
I trust this finds you in pursuit of big things.
My birthday is tomorrow, and yesterday someone asked me for “one major lesson” in the last year.
Of course, as a student of leadership, I have many things I have learnt in the last 365 days, but I thought hard to settle on this one – no one is too small to make a difference.
The Bible records the story of a little unnamed girl who was a maid to Naaman’s wife. Naaman was the commander of the army of the King of Syria, but Naaman was a leper. Though influential, Naaman had a negative condition. So this unnamed girl was around people of influence, but what she did taught me a lesson.
I still do not know the name of this little girl, but she made history by simply recommending to her master Naaman where to go to get healing from leprosy.
Fortunately, Naaman wasn’t proud to listen to this unnamed girl. He listened to her advice, took it, got healed, and beyond that, Naaman got transformed even in his faith.
My major lesson is that the little girl didn’t see herself as insignificant enough to make a life-changing recommendation to the people of influence and authority around her. He had the courage to speak up when she was sure that she had a solution or rather, a link to the solution to her master’s problem.
The little unnamed girl proved that NOBODY is too small to make a difference, whether your name is known or not.
If you want to make a difference in this world, you will need to stop looking at all your excuses and weaknesses; you will need to ignore your background and pick up the courage to make that difference.
In the world today, everyone needs hope and help, even powerful people.
So, stop feeling small and insignificant, and don’t let anything stop you from doing what you know is right for God, for people and for the nation.
You are not too small to make a difference.
I’m rooting for you.
GO, make a difference!
– Great
